Heat pumps
A heat pump gives out around three units of heat for every unit of electricity it uses. We’ll tell you honestly whether one suits your home, and design it properly if it does.

How it works
Even on a cold day there’s warmth in the outside air and the ground. The heat pump draws it in.
Using a little electricity, it raises that warmth to a useful temperature, like a fridge working in reverse.
It feeds your radiators or underfloor heating and heats your hot water cylinder.
Both work the same way. The difference is where they collect their heat.
Is it right for my home?
Heat pumps work brilliantly in the right home. Before recommending one, we carry out a room-by-room heat loss calculation and check:
If a heat pump isn’t the best fit, we’ll tell you, and suggest what is.

The government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme can help towards the cost of a heat pump for eligible homes. We work with an MCS-certified partner who handles the certification and grant paperwork, so you can still apply through us. Not every home qualifies, so we’ll explain your options clearly when we quote, and never promise a grant we can’t guarantee.
